Pungryu Spirit: Solhyangjae Spring/Summer Hanok Concert
"I visited to give my parents a special experience, and they truly loved it. Often at concerts, just listening to the music can feel a bit fleeting. But here, the refined tea and delicious traditional liquor made my parents feel truly pampered. They were so happy. Holding my parents' hands while the resonance of the Gayageum filled the Hanok—that moment of deep immersion will stay in my heart for a long time." Participant Han** |
"As a Gukak lover who often seeks out Sanjo performances, I was truly amazed by the program's composition. It wasn't just music with food in the background; the flow of the music and the pairings felt meticulously designed Sipping plum wine to the melodies of the Gayageum I felt I finally understood the 'Pungryu' (artistic appreciation of nature) that Joseon-era scholars once enjoyed. I was so happy to encounter such a beautiful performance after a long time." Participant Lee** |
A Night of Pungryu Blooming with Gayageum Melodies in a Serene, Moonlight-Drenched Hanok

We invite you to a special performance
where the clear, deep melodies of the Gayageum
flow through a peaceful Hanok bathed in moonlight.
Under the theme of Pungryu,
this concert is designed to help you experience
the fluttering excitement of spring,
the awakening energy of life,
and the fulfillment of summer with all your senses.
The sound of the Gayageum
permeating the Hanok represents
the rest and 'Pungryu'
—the harmony with nature—
that our ancestors once cherished.

Beyond a simple performance,
we offer an experience
that awakens all five senses:
seasonal Minhwa (folk paintings) for your eyes,
and refined traditional tea and liquor for your palate.
Create unforgettable memories
with your loved ones,
or enjoy a moment of summer evening
serenity just for yourself.
We cordially invite you to this Hanok concert,
where melodies as mystical as moonlight await.

• A Special Event for Our Guests •

To make traditional instruments
more accessible,
Jikji Gukak,
a leader in the modernization of
Korean instruments,
has prepared Gayageums specifically
for our audience.
Instruments are placed
throughout the Hanok;
please feel free to try playing them
during the intermission.
Eunpyeong Hanok Village • Solhyangjae • Pungryu

The elegant and clear sound of the Gayageum
blends with nature like a gentle breeze,
immersing us in a world of deep serenity.
The delicate and soft tones flowing
from the strings are enough
to stir a quiet ripple in the listener's heart.
Just as the scholars of the Joseon Dynasty
enjoyed Pungryu with nature
under the night sky,
we wanted to share this precious moment
where music, seasonal food, and art come together.

While I strive to express my life through music, I find that I learn and understand life more through my music. As a musician, I have faced various challenges, big and small. Yet, I live each moment with a grateful heart.
