1. Understanding Traditional Korean Minhwa A time to learn the basics of Minhwa while enjoying a soothing cup of floral welcome tea.

![]() 2. Painting Minhwa filled with Nature’s Vitality This season, we have prepared three designs that embody the abundance of nature. Please choose a design based on your preference and the meaning you wish to convey. 1. Peach (桃) Known as the fruit enjoyed by Taoist immortals, it symbolizes health, longevity, and a hopeful future. 2. Pomegranate (石榴) Like its seeds packed tightly, it is an auspicious symbol representing fertility, abundance, family harmony, and happiness. 3. Mountains and Water A life in harmony with nature, Symbolizing peace of mind and inner stability.

I'm Shin Sang-ah, a folk painting artist and the owner of Studio Hwayeon. Since I was a child, I have been watching my mother, who is a traditional folk tale artist, from the side, and I was naturally fascinated by folk tales and followed this path.

"I hope that even as time passes, this painting will continue to spark joyful imagination whenever you look at it.
And beyond that, I sincerely wish that the hopes and wishes embedded within the imagery of the artwork come true as well."

Solhyangjae is Greenear's first hanok space to run seasonal cultural experiences under the theme of Korea's seasonal nature.
At Solhyangjae, you can experience a wide range of Korean culture with five senses, including various art, folk painting exhibitions, performances, and gourmet experiences by Korean representative masters and cultural figures who connect traditions.
It is located in the tranquil Eunpyeong Hanok Village under Bukhansan Mountain. You can drink a cup of tea under the magnificent Bukhansan Mountain, and feel the deep rest and the energy of nature.

Capturing the Colors of the Korean Four Seasons
We embrace the colors and vitality of the four seasons that grace our land, imbuing every brushstroke with sincerity to capture the pure beauty of nature. Our 2026 Spring/Summer collection features designs thoughtfully curated to be accessible for those just beginning their journey into the world of Minhwa.
Course Schedule
• Course Duration: 80 minutes
* Please check the date carefully when purchasing tickets.
Course location
• 4 Jingwan-gil, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul (Solhyangjae)(No parking lot)
• We will send you a notification with the public parking lot's location five days before your visit.
Notice
• Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
• We do not have an age limit, but we may ask children to leave if they become noisy in order to ensure a smooth performance.
(We do not serve alcoholic beverages to those under the age of 19.)
• Doors open 15 minutes before the performance.

• We prepare materials/sites for the number of participants, so we cannot accept additional walk-ins.
• If you damage the course venue or materials, you may be required to pay compensation.
• On weekends, using the public parking lot might be difficult, so we recommend public transportation.
• Public parking may be difficult to find on weekends, so public transportation is recommended.
