ABOUT MY WORK

Planning and preparing a performance is always a thrilling thrill ride, filled with constant tension and anxiety. Yet, the moment I push past that raw fear and immerse myself completely in the music, I experience an intense ecstasy and joy unlike anything else.

What I face at the end of that journey is not absolute perfection, but honest self-reflection on the intense effort I put in, alongside a deep sense of self-efficacy—knowing that I made it through. Ultimately, this work is both a process of proving myself on stage and an ongoing journey of personal achievement.

Interview

Q. What is your most memorable place and experience in Korea’s nature?

The view I encountered this year while crossing the mountain pass in Buk-myeon, Cheonan felt like a wonderful gift. The tranquility brought by the neatly tended rice paddies, the lake, and the lush green trees offered me deep inner peace and happiness.

I am particularly fond of looking up at the sky. Gazing at the high, serene pastel hues of the dawn sky fills me with anticipation for the day ahead. Watching the sunset paint the sky in real time brings a sense of quiet reverence and deep peace. In those moments, I feel the happiness of being warmly embraced by this vast, expansive universe.

Q. What does nature mean to you?

A sanctuary for my soul, a home for my spirit, a place where I wish to stay, rest, and belong—an everlasting presence, and the greatest gift given by the divine.

Q. What do you hope people feel when they listen to your performance?

The most difficult instrument I have ever strived to master in my life, and one that required my fiercest dedication. Even now, it pushes me toward continuous learning and growth, reminding me that I still have a long way to go.

Because of its intense stimulation, it can sometimes feel daunting—yet far beyond being just an instrument, it is a tool that has driven me to explore the deeper philosophies of life. Ultimately, it is this instrument that refines me, making me a more meaningful and worthwhile individual.

A sense of being alive, vitality, inspiration, immersion, truthfulness, and humanity—these are the core values I strive for. If even a trace of pretension, exaggeration, or falsehood creeps into my music, I will always start by stripping it away until only what is real remains.
