ABOUT MY WORK e89d5f1bbca52.jpeg

I’d first like to share my thoughts on the "Late-Night Bookstore Concert" project. The concept of performing in a closed, dimmed bookstore felt exceptionally refreshing to me.

Concerts typically take place during bright daylight hours or peak times in formal concert halls. Performing in a dark, serene space could have felt unfamiliar, but instead, it allowed me to immerse myself even more deeply in the music. The unique fragrance of books in the quiet store, the soft illumination, and the music of Koi Ensemble filling the night joined together to create an unforgettable evening.

Interview

Q. What is your most memorable place and experience in Korea’s nature?

The Metasequoia Tree-Lined Road in Damyang comes to mind first. I visited there with my family during the Chuseok holiday, and it is widely considered one of the most beautiful tree-lined avenues in Korea. Tall, straight Metasequoia trees line both sides of the path, offering breathtaking, distinct views in every season.

It was all the more meaningful because I was with my family. Looking up at those lush, upright trees, I was reminded that even when we sway in the wind, we can always stand tall again.

Q. What does nature mean to you?

To me, nature is a presence that helps me rediscover my own pace in life.

The world is constantly telling us to move faster, achieve more, and climb higher—yet nature has never once rushed me. Just as trees sprout leaves according to their own season and flowers bloom and fall when their time comes, nature gently reminds me that it is alright to live at my own pace, without comparing myself to others.

Q. What do you hope people feel when they listen to your performance?

I hope people feel a sense of comfort in my performance. Living in today's fast-paced world, I often see how weary people are. I hope that listening to my music allows them to step back, even for a moment, and find peace, rest, and comfort for their tired souls.
