CEO of Yeonwoo Jedda, PhD in Korean Culture, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs New Knowledge Farmer No. 468
Introduction

I am Seo Jeong-min, a tea guardian cultivating tea in Hadong. It has been 20 years since we changed our company name from Dugok Dawon to Yeonwoo Jedda. We are diligently incorporating the beliefs and methods of tea passed down through three generations into Yeonwoo Jedda. To ensure that the path my parents steadfastly walked is not in vain, I strive today, before the hot cauldron, to embrace its heat, aiming to deliver a more authentic experience and the gratitude bestowed by nature to our customers in my current work. As a result, I was designated New Knowledge Farmer No. 468 by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. I have also received numerous awards at various tea tasting competitions, earning significant recognition.

Feelings While Doing This Work

As my mother always says, the more you work with tea, the harder it gets. The situation is never the same. The climate changes, as do the day's weather and one's condition, yet the tea's taste must remain consistent, which makes it increasingly challenging the more you do it.
Interview
Q. Please introduce the tea that can be found at Solhyangjae Hanok.

The product we are introducing this time is Yeonwoo Jedda's Mugwort Tea. It is arguably our most popular product. Made from very young mugwort harvested in March, it is mild and smooth, and as a pan-fried tea, it has a savory taste that makes it beloved by everyone. In particular, it is cherished as a healthy tea for its warming properties and medicinal benefits.
This was the first alternative tea we created, following green and black teas, after changing our company name from my mother's Dugok Dawon to Yeonwoo Jedda. I always believed in the benefits of mugwort, and it was a readily available ingredient in the secluded mountain valleys of Hadong. However, transforming it into tea is a very difficult and arduous process. The fine hairs of the young mugwort fly around, making you look like a snowman after preparing the tea. Yet, if even one step is neglected, the taste deteriorates, so we dedicate our utmost effort to every moment. This dedication seems to be why its popularity continues to grow.
Many people tend to think of mugwort tea as bitter. However, Yeonwoo Jedda's Mugwort Tea is often described as having a seaweed-like or savory taste, making it pleasant to drink. It's also excellent as a relaxing finishing tea after green or black tea. I highly recommend it, especially for women who tend to feel cold.
Q. What is nature to you?

Nature is a gift. It gives us so much. Thanks to it, we can live, and thanks to the tea we make, many customers can encounter healthy tea.
Q. What kind of encounter do you hope Yeonwoo Jedda's tea has with customers?

Yeonwoo Jedda's teas bring forth fragrance and flavor from their natural ingredients. This is to ensure they are beneficial to the body. Since we make and deliver our tea directly from clean Jirisan Hadong, we wish for Yeonwoo tea to serve as a medium for good gatherings and to be a tea that contributes to health.
