What to expect while doing this

Playing the piano requires a lot of time spent practicing and thinking, but as time went on, I naturally realized that I wanted to share classical music with many people, and through my ensemble performances, I have been playing in various places, arranging classical music that the audience likes and can relate to.

It's been a struggle at times, but I'll always be grateful and feel fortunate to have continued to study and perform classical music.

Everyone's definition or priorities of happiness will be different, but I consider myself a very happy person because it's never far away, it's always close at hand.

The sense of calm and happiness that music gives me is indescribable, and I'm increasingly realizing that the direction I've always taken isn't wrong just because it's different from everyone else.

At least for the students I teach, I want to be a good teacher, a good person, and a good mentor so that they can continue to play music, and as a performer of pure music, I hope to fulfill the role of a performer who acts as a mediator when the sound of the instrument and the music full of the composer's heart meet, and I hope to empathize and communicate with more people to make classical music accessible to them.

Interview

Q. What are some of your most memorable places and experiences in nature in Korea?

I love all the nature in Korea. Whether it's mountains, rivers, oceans, lakes, temples, or temples, Korea's nature is always there, always present, always all-encompassing, and always inspiring.

There's a natural phenomenon that I've been particularly fond of lately, and I love the misty mountains the day after a rain.

I love that mystical atmosphere, that feeling of being in a fantasy novel, of being drenched and refreshed and everything washed away.

Q.  What does nature mean to you?

I'm not religious yet, so I don't believe in God, but that's why nature is like a god to me.

We live in the bosom of nature, we can't live without it, and we're always thinking about how we coexist with it and lean on it for a while.

For me, nature is God, more holy and beautiful than the existence of my parents or ancestors.

Q. What do you want people to take away from the experience and healing you provide?

We want our music to be like the nature that is always around us, like the flow of water or the passing of clouds, slowly and naturally seeping into your heart, bringing you peace, comfort, and solace.

There are so many musicians who are technically good at their instruments, but I don't think there are many who touch people's hearts with their music.

A performance where the instruments, nature, and space become one with the music itself, where we can focus on the music, connect with each other, and find solace is an invaluable experience for performers and audiences alike.

We hope that, despite we always have some of shortcomings, our performance will be a valuable experience for you.
